What really makes a routine stand out from the rest? It’s those final
touches that really push it over the top. From a simple head snap to a cheeky wink those are the types of add on’s that really help a routine shine. So I have compiled a list of some of my favourite cheer tastic tips to help perfect that winning routine.
Head Snap
Having all your cheerleaders snap their head up at the same time can really have an impact especially if it’s exactly in time!
Spirit Shout
By using a spirit shout in your routine helps to show enthusiasm as well as a love for cheer! For example shouting your team name before a stunt or at the beginning of the routine can really help the judges show you mean business.
Finishing a Cradle
This is such an easy way to loose and gain marks! Having a cradle where the flyer just gets sort of akwardly put down can have a really messy affect on the routine. Make sure everyone not only cradles at the same time but puts the flyer down at the same time choreograph it into the routine! Perhaps add an ending position or a head roll at the end to really make it an element of the routine.
Tumble or not
I don't like when choaches hide the girls who can’t tumble at the back choreograph them into the routine. I think they create some easy motions or a simple dance to show the judges you have
considered and given everyone a place in the routine.
